PRISM Quartet presents a program celebrating the XAS Records re-release of the group’s groundbreaking first album (1990, The PRISM Quartet on Koch International).  Spanning four decades of music making, the program features three works from the original disc by Jean-Baptiste Singelée, Russell Peck, and Matthew Levy, plus two recent compositions: Tiny Machines by Bill Ryan and Hikikomori: Silent Disappearance by Renee Baker. Generate Music is a timely project exploring the ties between Black and Jewish Americans in which PRISM Quartet is joined by seven extraordinary artists: David Gilmore (guitar), David Krakauer (clarinet), Diane Monroe (violin), Reuben Rogers (bass), Ursula Rucker (vocals, poetry), Susan Watts (trumpet, vocals), and 2024 Pulitzer Prize winner Tyshawn Sorey (drums, percussion). Generate Music received its world premiere in June 2024 and is now available for touring, beginning in 2025-26. Visit generate.prismquartet.com to learn more.
